Iconic ‘Cobra Kai’ Mansion in Georgia Hits the Market for $2.9M

Fans of “Cobra Kai,” listen up. The famous LaRusso family home featured in the popular Netflix series “Cobra Kai” is available in Marietta, GA, for $2,950,000.

A Mediterranean Marvel

Originally hitting the market in 2021 for $2.6 million, the six-bedroom Mediterranean mansion has resurfaced with a price increase.

The property serves as the fictional home of Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio, who starred in the 1980s classic “The Karate Kid.”

The martial arts comedy/drama sequel to the movie franchise revisits the character some three decades later.

A House with Star Power

The house itself has also become something of a star.

“Many other movie studios have come out and looked at the property as well, but when they were scouting out homes, the sellers were approached by Sony to film there,” says listing agent Kelly Anderson of Engel & Volkers Atlanta.

“They actually moved out for three or four months in 2017 so they could film there.

What’s interesting to note is that they built an exact replica of the house in downtown Atlanta in a studio where they could shoot, but they couldn’t replicate the backyard and exterior.”

Revenue Stream from ‘Cobra Kai’

Fans of the show might be heartened to discover that the property, known as Villa Flora, offers a built-in revenue stream as “Cobra Kai” continues to film exterior shots on the property.

“There is no contract, but the sellers are paid by the studio for the home to be filmed,” Anderson says.

A Piece of Cinematic History

The “piece of cinematic history,” as the listing calls it, also has a storied past.

“The original structure was built in 1968 and torn down to the studs and then added on,” Anderson notes.

“The current owners rebuilt the home in 2008, and in the last two years, it has been used as a successful investment property.”

An Investment Opportunity

It was so successful, in fact, that the owners brought in investor partners and have since moved out of the place so it could be used solely as an investment property.

Anderson adds that the residence was once owned by a big-time lobbyist and that two presidents have stayed there.

Short-Term Rental Potential

The Cobra Kai house has been available as a short-term vacation rental.

“As seen on Netflix,” states its listing on the website Rent By Owner.

The description also promises that a “stay at Villa Flora is both a trip through history as well as an encounter reminiscent of your favorite characters and scenes from the show.”

Luxurious Living Space

Offering 9,214 square feet of luxury space, the modern interior with historic highlights is anchored by one spectacular design feature.

“The indoor atrium is truly a showstopper,” Anderson says.

“All of the rooms look into that space and, with its waterfall, it gives it the sound of a hotel. It’s an incredible experience walking in there.”

Heritage Details

Details that pay homage to the home’s storied heritage include arched windows and doorways, wrought-iron railings, and three fireplaces.

A chef’s kitchen features high-end appliances, custom cabinets, sleek countertops, and a wood-fired pizza oven.

There’s even a greenhouse out back where you can grow your own vegetables.

Owner’s Suite Perks

The owner’s suite also has a few splashy perks—gorgeous, handmade tiles in the shower and direct access to the outdoor pool.

Anderson notes that “you can step out of the bathroom and jump right into the pool.”

Potential Buyers

She believes the next owner might have ties to the movie industry.

“I think it could be someone from Hollywood who appreciates its history on the show, or it could be someone who appreciates Mediterranean-style architecture,” she says.

“I think the next owner will want more of an experience than a home. Realtors are calling to get showings scheduled.

I think the current owner’s success operating it as an Airbnb opens the door for multiple opportunities.”
